Task:
Eastern Europe (EET) time is either 6 or 7 hours ahead of Eastern Time. Most of the year it is 7 hours, but twice yearly it is 6 hours.
They switch on the 4th Sunday, and we switch on the 2nd Sunday.
Solution:
We saw tow options:
a. Work the 2nd/4th Sunday 2:30 vs 3:00 AM mess
b. Work the TimeZone field (type) values
The TimeZone field type with their time-zone values for calculating offsets.
For example, as of 2026/3 Eastern is:
Z=5$DO=1$DL=4 1 1 10 - 1$ZX=10$ZN=Eastern
and Eastern Europe is:
Z=-2$DO=1$DL=3 -1 1 10 -1 1$ZX=37$ZN=E. Europe
Since this function does NOT use a TimeZone field to get any zone changes in the future, these zone info sets could get out of date. So check this function periodically, or change the function to pass in the target zone rather than hard-code to EET.
There is also a LotusScript Evaluate of @TimeToTextInZone. Although they execute very quickly, we are not the hugest fan of having to use Evaluate. But there is no LS equivalent currently to the @Formula function. So the function uses it.
