Import a Audio Loop and Repeating

To Import the File:
Create or Open a ProTools Session
Under File on the menu, choose "Import Audio to Track..."
A window with three main sections will appear.
Navigate to the file in the left pain. Select it to play and review it in the center section.
Double click it to put it in the right section to import. Click the Done button.
Choose "Current Folder" option as location to import.

To Loop Audio:
Select the hand tool.
Select the audio loop that was just imported.
On the keyboard, type Alt-R. or Choose Repeat under Edit on the menu.
Choose the number of repeats and press OK.

To Identify the Beat:
Select the hand tool.
Select the audio loop that was just imported.
On the keyboard, type Ctl-I, or choose "Identity Beat" under Edit on the menu.
(This didn't work)

To Set the Beat Clock:
Create a mono audio track.
Add SampleTank to the Inserts. Pick a MIDI track like 16.
Set the input to No Input.
Set the output to Analog 1-2 (or your main out).
Add the beat clock to the Transport window if not shown (On menu, Display --> Transport Window Shows --> MIDI Controls).
Double click the Metranome icon to open its settings.
Change output to SampleTank channel 16 (or the channel you chose above).
Press the OK button.
