Issue:
New users added with the Add New User Wizard in the SBS Console have error and no mailbox is created.
Error messages:
Unable to find default database. Make sure mailbox database exists and you have access to the view the database.
Mailbox does not exist for recipient of welcome mail.
Solution:
The error message is the issue. To confirm the issue, verify the name of the mailstore that the SBS console thinks is missing.
c:\program files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs\AddUser.log
"Unable to find default mailbox database with name [mailboxname] - Check access and verify if mailbox database eixsts - Error #(80004)".
SBS uses the "First Storage Mailbox". If this mailbox is renamed or deleted, SBS is not updated to a new one. Update the Exchange configuration.
1. Open the Exchange Management Console.
2. Expand the Server Configuration option and select Mailbox.
3. Select the Database Management tab.
4. Click the option to open the Mailbox Database Properties.
5. Change the name back to Mailbox Database.
6. Click Apply. Click OK.
7. Add another user to test.
