Issue:
You attempt to make a snapshot of a VM on an ESX server using the VMA4 script.
Solution:
Removing Vms from the Vcenter client and doing a clean in the VMA 4 virtual machine seems to fix the issue . However, it's labor intensive and I don't like outages.
It also seems to occur most often when a server disconnects or after a VM move.
Another option seems to be to:
1. Shut Down the VM
2. Edit Settings of the VM
3. Edit the advanced Configuration Parameters.
4. Locate disk.EnableUUID and set to false.
Another possibility is a loss of connection between that server and the storage (ex. NFS) datastore.
