Issue:
After reversion of Windows 10 to previous Recovery Point, the VMware video driver was replaced by the stock MS one.
Afterwards, MS Windows doesn't resize to the Window size of it's Fusion window. Changing VM Display settings only result in scaling rather than true resize.
Solution:
1. Uninstall the current VMware Tools
- Windows Start icon --> Gear (Control Panel) icon far left --> Apps --> scroll down to VMware Tools --> Left click, choose Uninstall
- Reboot (at the prompt), and wait to login.
2. Under Virtual Machine in Fusion menu, choose the option to Install VMware Tools.
- If you don't have autorun enabled, which I don't. Open up the My Computer view, and double click the VMware Tools drive (letter D, in my case) option to run the install.
- Choose the "Complete" option in-case you ever need to move the Win10 between VMware products, follow prompts to complete install.
- Reboot (at the prompt)
