From the Start menu, start Microsoft Office Groove 2007.
  • In the Launchbar window, click New Workspace.
  • A new window called Create New Workspace appears.
  • Give the new workspace a name.
  • Choose the Standard type of workspace which will give you a space with a Files tool and a Discussion tool.
    Notes:
You will be the only member of the space at first and will have a role of Manager.
You can also do a File Sharing workspace or choose a custom template.
  • If prompted to add users from your messenger contact list, choose Yes
  • Click OK
  • The Groove workspace window will appear, under 'Common Tasks', click on Add Tools in the lower right-hand corner.
  • The Groove workspace window will appear, under 'Common Tasks', click on Add Tools in the lower right-hand corner.
  • Choose SharePoint Files from the list by placing a check in the Checkbox.
  • Click on OK.
  • Across the bottom of the workspace you can see the 'SharePoint Files' tool tab.
  • On the 'SharePoint Files' tool tab, click the Setup button.
  • In the new 'Select a document library or folder' window, type the URL to the SharePoint site.
    e.g. http://sharepoint.mindwatering.local/
  • Under SharePoint 'Sites and Workspaces', double click the Sites option to kick-off the search.
Note: This may take a while for SharePoint to search the web server for SharePoint sites.
  • Once the sites lists are presented under 'Sites and Workspaces', click the SharePoint site to load.
    e.g. MW SharePoint Demo
  • The window changes and displays the 'Document Libraries' of this site. Select a library and click the Select button to open it.
e.g. Click Shared Documents to select that "library", and click on the Select button.
  • Select a document to edit. Once you save the document, you will be returned to the Groove window.
  • Groove will detect that a change has been made to the document and present you with a 'Editing File - Save' window to save the document back into SharePoint. Choose Yes, to save it back to SharePoint. Choose No to abandon your new edits. To actually send it back to the library and all members, click the Synchronize Now option when the window appears.

    Note:
Once you have accessed the SharePoint library, you should now have the SharePoint site/library in the My Network Places. You can navigate to the library there.
