Issue:
New VM created on 4 processor IBM server w/Zeon 64 bit processors running ESX 3.5 or ESXi. VM was setup to be a Windows 2008 64 bit system.
After install starts, error message displays saying that install could not continue, probably from a recent system change, and that you need to repair your computer. At the bottom of the screen next to Info is the the reason: "Attempting to load a 64-bit application, however this CPU is not capatible with 64-bit mode.". You verify your VM settings are correct.

Solution:
If DELL server:
Issue may be with the HOST server's bios. Look for an option under the advanced CPU section for Virtualization Technology and enable it.

If IBM XServe:
You may need to update the BIOS Advanced Utilities. See the http://www.ibm.com/systems/support page.
