PCI
32bit width, 33Mhz. Originals used 5V cards (see slot cut for 5v).
Later had 64bit which supported 3.3V cards and 32bit 3.3.V cards (see slot cut for 3.3v).
PCI-X
64 bit width. 66Mhz or 133Mhz. Uses the 64-bit 3.3v slot type.
PCI-X 2.0 increased bus speed to 266 Mhz or 533 Mhz, but is backwards compatible (32bit or 64bit cards w/3.3v).
Speed:
32bit - 2.5 Gbps/200 MBps one-way, 400 MBps two-way/duel direction.
64bit - 10 Gbps/800 MBps one-way, 1.6 GBps two-way/duel direction.
Note that bus will be slowed down to slowest card plugged into that bus channel.
