Problems with Dropped Network Connections and Timeout Issues

I have seen a lot of issues with timeouts and dropped connections with WEP and wireless hub/routers.

Besides disabling WEP and running Open, try the following:

1. See if vendor of wireless card and hub/router has a firmware update
2. Verify that you have enough signal strength (e.g. over 30%)
3. Check the MTU settings if running VPN, make sure both are set for same thing (e.g. 1492 instead of default 1500).
For one thing PPPoE does not support MTUs above 1492.

This has been reported with Linksys, Netgear, and Cisco VPN software.
