Besides the Domino.Doc (DM) API, there are two common ways to bulk import documents into the Library:

1. Use Import button within Notes Interface
This allows you to import files within a directory or by using a file list.
The button can be viewed when you open a cabinet.

Notes:
If using a directory, be easy on yourself. Organize the docs to be imported into the same structure as the destination.
If using the text file option, see the documentation for the format for the file.
The files will all be imported into the same binder selected in the import form loaded by the Import button.
The files will share the same description.
The filename will be their title.
You select whether or not they all get imported as versions (1.0) or drafts (0.1), or left checked out.

2. Use the Destop Enabler (DM Neighborhood) Interface
You simply drag and drop the files from the source directory into the destination binder and edit the profiles individually.

Notes:
You name/title each file in sequence that you dragged. (You can drag multiple files, and a window will appear after the drag for each document dragged.)
Each file is given individually, it's title, description, and checkin option. (This is either a plus or a minus depending on how you like it -- more control, more things to fill out.)
This option gives you the ability to give each doc a title that is not the title of the filename.
